Nucor achieves world production record thanks to ENERGIRON

Tenova and Danieli’s jointly developed innovative technology enables Nucor Steel Louisiana to reach record production of high-quality DRI, confirming ENERGIRON’s role as key driver of sustainability in steel sector.

Last August 2024 Nucor Steel Louisiana reached world record production last August 2024 with 330.3 tons/hour of cold direct reduced iron (CDRI), thanks to its pioneering ENERGIRON technology.

The innovative DRI plant yielded an outstanding 7,928 tons/day, with a high-quality DRI output with 95% metallization and carbon content of 3.3%. The plant has set a new standard of excellence, by reaching unprecedented production levels while, crucially, maintaining exceptional operational reliability.
