Hot DRI (HDRI) is directly transferred from the DR plant reactor to the EAF at high temperature through the HYTEMP system. This solution allows to recover the thermal energy of the DRI, which is extracted from the reactor at high temperatures.
Compared to CDRI, delivering HDRI in EAF at 600°C allows energy savings of approximately 150 kWh/tLS and 30% reduction of tap-to-tap time.
